Listen to Oral Argument Audio Files.
The calendar of cases scheduled for oral argument is posted approximately one month in advance of the argument session and is updated on a weekly basis until the Friday before the session. Changes in the calendar are made up until the time of argument. Each side to a case is generally allowed 20 minutes to argue, although in some cases argument time is limited to 15 minutes per side and in en banc cases counsel are granted 30 minutes to argue. Generally, the panel does not recess, or recesses only very briefly, between cases. The identity of the argument panel is not disclosed until the morning of argument. A very brief description of each case is included on the calendar for the information of persons who may be interested in attending oral argument. The description is prepared by the clerk's office; it does not reflect the court's view of the issues or limit the issues counsel may argue. |
