Media Advisory - October 29, 2015, Oral Argument in No. 15-4116, U.S. v. Maureen McDonnell

Argument Date & Time: Thursday, October 29, 2015, 8:30 a.m.

Location: Lewis F. Powell, Jr., United States Courthouse, 1000 East Main Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219. Courthouse entrances on Main Street and Bank Street open at 7:00 a.m.  Bring photo identification and allow sufficient time to pass through security screening. Do not bring restricted items, such as electronic devices, weapons, food, or beverages. For directions, parking, and entry information, see Visiting the Court.

Courtroom and Panel: Argument will be heard by a three-judge panel in the Butzner Courtroom on the second floor (Room 201). The identity of the panel will be released on the morning of argument. I.O.P. 34.1. Calendar Assignments and Panel Composition.

Overflow Courtroom: An audio-video feed of the argument will be broadcast from the Butzner Courtroom to the Red Courtroom on the fourth floor (Room 412).

Public Seating: The Butzner Courtroom gallery seats 72 people, and the overflow courtroom gallery seats 111 people. Public seating will be on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Reserved Media Seating: Prior to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015, one representative from each news organization may request reserved seating on the Contact page of the court's Web site by selecting the Media Seating category in the dropdown menu. Include your name, title, news organization, address, email address, and phone number with your request for media seating for U.S. v. Maureen McDonnell on October 29, 2015.  Approval will be sent via email. You may also contact Mark Zanchelli, Chief Deputy Clerk, at (804) 916‑2760. Your approved request and media credentials will entitle you to a reserved media seat in the Butzner Courtroom (Room 201). You must check in on the second floor outside the Butzner Courtroom by 8:00 a.m. on October 29, or your reserved seat will be subject to release. News organizations that are owned by the same corporation or that closely share news resources are entitled to only one reserved media seat. Media representatives who are not on the reserved seating list may use public seating on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Satellite Vehicles: Media satellite vehicles may park on 10th Street between Main and Bank Streets.

Media Interviews and Public Gatherings: Media interviews and public gatherings must be conducted off the courthouse property and courthouse steps and must not impede public access to the courthouse.
